What is the Harvest?

The biggest sacred cow teaching in the church today is the misunderstanding as to what the harvest is? First of all, we don't have to presume to know what it is. Jesus said in

Matthew 13:39, ... the harvest is the end of the world [age]; and the reapers are the angels. The harvest actually takes at the end of the great tribulation, which is 7 years after the rapture of the church. The harvest is actually recorded in

Revelation 14:15, 19-20 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come for thee to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. And the angel [reaper] thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered [the harvest] the vine of the earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs. [about 200 miles]

These verses in turn reveals to us when this age ends. We now know this age ends with the second coming of Jesus to the earth. We must not confuse his second coming with the rapture of the church which takes place 7 years prior to his second coming. At the rapture the church meets him in the air and at the second coming Jesus descends to the Mount of Olives where he will trample the gathering of the wicked harvest in the valley of Megiddo. This very scene is described above in Revelation 14:14-20. So, we now see that the harvest is not a gathering of righteous people during the church age but it is gathering of the wicked at the end of the great tribulation. So, in short, the harvest is the battle of Armededdon! As confirmed by

Revelation 16:16, And he gathered them [the wicked] together [the harvest] into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. I rest my case on the Word of God!
